A tornado has hit northwest London today most unusually, I was wondering if anyone has experienced it? Seems like it was a very powerful one. Its been very stormy here in Ireland as well, but tornado's? No, we are not at the stage yet.

It was sufficiently windy here for me to say wow look how windy it is here, earlier, but not tornadic. They used to be far more rare but this year's had ponies sucked into the air in Hampshire, waterspouts off the coast, a whole succession of whirly-wind phenomena. It's a while since Patrick Moore's garden was overshadowed, the Kensal Rise one sounds stronger still.
I do remember the trees coming down all along the street in Islington in 1987, and crunching through rooftiles and broken windscreens the next morning, but that was just a gale.

I've noticed windows rattling and roaring gusts trying to burst their way in for the last four or five days but nothing resembling a funnel.
It is just as windy today as well. I saw a few teenagers blow down the street clutching their schoolbags just about an hour ago.

We got the storm as it left london. Lightning, thunder and all the good noise that went with it. But on the news we saw alot of excited people. I kind of chuckled at the wizard of oz reference.
But to give the folks credit who arent used to such things, I sure bet it felt that way.
