I decided to do some big cleaning in the kitchen today. So I asked Rick if he would move the refrigerator away from the wall so I could clean the back of it, and do the floor.

What a bunch of cobwebs back there..and the floor is an utter mess. I have to wonder..how can a floor, which never sees the light of day get so dirty??

Rick then said that he would move the stove out for me too, since I was on a roll. I said no..I am not sure I could take the shock.

:wah:

I had to get a new stove a couple of years ago, the old stove had been here since we moved in. I was so mortified by the mess under it when they came and put in our new stove. :o

What about the ceiling lampshades? Where do those bugs come from? Apparently they fly but I've not seen them in the air.

Marie, I'm going to confess and help you out... help you to not feel

so badly!

A few years ago, when DH and I moved from our place in San Rafael

(I'd been there 10 years, he about 5) I talked to the movers about

my beautiful antique china cabinet, cautioning them that it was the one

piece of furniture in the whole entire place that I really cared about and

would they please be careful... well... I must say, they were EXCELLENT

and cushioned it on the truck with mattresses and everything...

BUT... this thing is about 5 foot tall and four foot wide, filled with china

and crystal... antique rosewood and fruit wood and weighed a ton... so

even though I periodically stuck the vacuum cleaner hose under to remove

dust... I never MOVED the dang thing.

The place we lived was really, really WET. When they moved this thing

away from the wall, there was a rectangle of BLACK on the wall from

MOLD. HORRORS! :o :o I wanted to crawl through the floor, I was

so ashamed. Again, the movers were really nice, maybe not the worst

they'd seen... but oh God did I feel just awful!!

There, Marie, how's that?

;)

The warmth attracts spiders etc. The condensate from inside runs down to

a receptacle on top of the compressor. Sometimes this overflows onto the

floor. Result:- gunge and mess.

I always live in hope of the Housework Fairies coming to my house and doing all the work for me but they don't - they send their evil twins - the Mess Things Up and Spread Dirt Fairies.....perhaps they have visited you too!
