does anyone else have weird electrical problems with their computer?
my mouse often does things of it's own accord when I touch it.
spot thought I had a faulty mouse but I'm on mouse number three now and it's the same thing.
my keyboard sometimes does weird things too.
is there some kind of decharger I can get to keep my computer from zapping again?

No, Keith.
I want a cordless, so I can speed race.
It's just a plain old optical mouse and a laptop with half the letters worn off the keys. Which is another weird thing. It's not old enough to have the letters coming off. Good thing I know where all the freakin' keys are.

I've got a half GB of memory and 20 GB of spare disk space. And Windows managed virtual space.
I'm going searching for a metaphysical answer.

Metaphysically, it means that a part of you is not feeling grounded. You need to stop being so accessible and find something more permanent to plug into. It suggests that your connection to the outside world needs to be fed by coming to FG more often.

Do you have a static electric problem? I can ZAP people when I shake hands! It's quite cool sometimes...:sneaky:
That sounds like a plan. Makes sense to me.
Thanks

We use optical mice at work, for some reason they hate mouse mats and have a tendancy to jsend the pointer flying all over the screen so we have to use them direct on the desk and then have no problems at all. So could be the surface your mouse is on that is causing the problem .

The biggest glitch is that all three mice, when I click, cause the screen to jump and miss the link I'm clicking on.

This is *&#!ing crazy!!!!!!!!!!
Constantly, while I'm typing, the mouse will move my cursor to wherever the mouse was sitting on the page. Sometimes it even highlights sections on it's own. I mean... MY HAND ISN'T EVEN TOUCHING THE STUPID THING!!
it's not the mouse. it's me.

The inside of my computer was zapping a few days ago, but now it's fine. Must have been that lone roach in there doing the boogey.

The solution is to buy, steal or otherwise acquire a sizeable hammer and place where the recalcitrant device (mouse, computer or other half) can see it.

What if I just whisper threats at it? And look menacing?
I think it just laughed at me.

Are you sure it's a computer - it's not some alien entity that is trying to take over your life?

new glitch to report.
for the last couple of days when I hit reply to a thread I've ended up on the wrong thread.
so if you see me post something that makes absolutely no sense, it belongs in another thread.
I will now be checking to see if spot has been slipping acid in my drinks.
