Alsation or Bull Terrier?

Hi All

I'm new to these forums so hello to you all.

I've got a problem with the dog next door to me. See, I work night shifts, and when I go to bed in the morning I find it hard to sleep because my neighbours dog(a wee springer thing) is left in the garden while she goes to work. It barks constantly, deprives me of my much needed sleep, and I'm at my wits end.

I've politely asked my neighbour on several occasions if she'd mind trying to remedy the situation, but it just carries on.

I'm very much a pet lover, and I certainly wouldn't dream of harming the dog myself, but I feel I've been perfectly polite and reasonable up until now with no success.

A couple of friends have suggested I borrow their dogs for a few days, leave them in my garden, and let nature take it's course. One owns a Staffie Bull Terrier, the other an Alsatian.

I'm really undecided and that's where I need help. Which would be the best to borrow??

I assume you mean you want your borrowed dog to bark right? Not to attack the other dog?

Probably the reason your neighbor's dog barks is because she doesn't get enough attention. People tend to stick their furguys out in the yard with a water dish and that's it. Is that the case?

It doesn't matter what kind of dog you borrow if you just want to annoy the neighbors. Any barking dog will do. Try turning your stereo up full blast and see if they complain. Run your power tools while they're sleeping. Try that and see if they get the hint.

But on no condition harm their dog.

Hi Davie, Can't you leave a Camcorder running all day? then you can show your neighbour exactly what her mutt gets up to when she's out! If she still doesn't do anything, you could take it to your Councils environmental health dept, and they can make her take action......Or Staffie!:)

Why not just contact the RSPCA let them go and and have a word with the house holder before you take this any further .

why dont you get it a kong anfd throw it over the fence stuffed with peanut butter.

because if the other option is getting the dog savaged and killed by one of your friends dogs, who then itself could get destroyed, then you shpould just pick up your keyboard and leave.

there are way to many animal lovers here to condone that sick kind of thinking.

I'd call the animal control people, not sure where abouts you are.

Ask them what the bylaws are. As far as I know there is a limit placed on how long a dog can be left barking. They'll leave a notice on the door and say they've had some complaints. If the problem doesn't stop they will tell her what steps they expect her to take or the animal goes to a shelter.

The neighbour will know it was you, if you've talked to her already but at least you could say you tried talking to her about it already.

Eating them could be the answer? Or shooting them? Only two ways of sorting the problem out
