Hello everyone! They took mom into surgery at 10:50 am..She will be there until at least 7 tonight...I know I kind of dropped off the site without an update and I thank all of you for the emails of concern! We are very worried.. the surgery is really going to be hard on her...She has no function at all in her right kidney--her left kidney is functioning at less then 30%...her superior artery and her celiac arteries are 95% blocked..These carry blood flow to the main organs such as the kidneys, liver, splean, intestine and bowel..This has been the problem this whole time! We have tried to get her to be sent some where besides our home town hosptial for so long that she actually has lost 58 lbs since we started the process..She is gravely ill and I guess what I need are some prayers! Thanks again for the concern and wonderful emails! :-4 I will keep you posted---

My nephew is still hanging on..He was put into hospice last Saturday and has been struggling for every breath since..It was very difficult for me to leave him yesterday...Saying good bye to him was heart breaking..He is only a few months in age from me and we were raised like brother and sister...It is killing me not being there for him and his wife now...but my place is here with my mother right now..The whole family came in from the different states and we are all here...EMOTIONS ARE FRICKIN HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!:lips: but I am sure after this weekend--we will be back to the HAPPY family that we are!!! Did I say happy??? or disfunctional! :p

Talk to you again...I have my computer here and it is keeping me busy!

I usually dont reply to your posts. Not because I dont read them, I do. Its not because I dont care, I do. I think its because whatever I say will seem trite and insignificant. Ive sat here many times trying to think of something to say that could have an impact on you. Ive written many things just to turn around and erase them because it didnt seem enough. So Ill just say a prayer.

Thanks everyone! Nomad....nothing you could say would be bad...I appreciate everything everyone shares...I am truly bored--waiting is the hard part..BUT good news is the nurse stopped by and said she was holding her own! So--maybe she will come out of this with a new found life of good health...we can only keep the faith ya know! Surgery will be over around 7 or 8 they think....I will post when I find out more..Thanks again...

Iowa Mom was just checking out different threads when I saw yours. This has been a very long day for you. I have prayed for you and her as I'm sure a lot of your friends and family are doing. When we are in your situation we have two helpers, God and knowlegable Doctors. Put your mother in theirs hands and keep the faith. I'm going to leave my computer on this thread and will check every once in awhile to see how things are going. Nerves are becoming very strained right now so stay with it and depend on your family to help pull thru this. Love and Prayers from Illinois.

Dawn, you and BR are in my thoughts and prayers daily. You and your families have both taken more way knocks than is fair for any family to endure. I'll keep you and all your family and BR and all her family and beautiful Cheshire Cat's family in my thoughts, heart, prayers and send many heartfelt good vibes and beams and blessings to you all.

Sending a Guardian Angel to watch over you and another for BR and one to shine a light on you all. God Bless you All.

Hello....what a long night!! After about 8 we were still in the surgery waiting room...no one had come out to say she was going up stairs to the Unit yet..Finally I went and asked..they had been having some difficulty getting her off the heart machine...

Finally at 9:30 they got her to ICU..they wanted to try and ween her off the vent and I was not leaving my mom..All my brothers and sisters went back to the hotel...I went into moms room -only to be pushed out by a nurse..they had to incubate her after they had tried to get her off the vent...she was worked on for about 30 minutes and I was scared to death! They tried again at 2:30 am and finally gave up...This morning she is much calmer and is squeezing our hands etc...I will keep u posted! Thanks for the PMs....

Love Mom
