Just posted on another thread about calories etc and got thinking about what everyone eats on a typical xmas day?
I always say im going to eat what i like but only ever seem to manage dinner and pud then im stuffed.
A dinner for us is roast chicken (not huge turkey fans) with all the trimmings, sprouts, baby sausages wrapped in bacon, roast parsnips, followed by xmas puds and poury cream
What do you all scoff?

OK, a Polish tradition is on Christmas eve you have 7 kinds of fish. I am not into that much.
We actually do not have things we always eat at Christmas...except for the Princess Pudding dessert my mom used to make. I have the recipe posted here somewhere.
Since Rick and I are not going anywhere..we are doing a special Christmas dinner..Lobster tail and shrimp. We already have the shrimp in the freezer, bought them on sale. We will get the lobster tails later this week.
I probably will make my mom's desert too.

Well, yes. That is a given. What is Thanksgiving without Turkey?
We will probably buy a roast for New Years Day, though.

We do the boring but yummy traditional dinner - turkey, roast spuds, stuffing, little sausages in bacon, loads of veg (yorkshire puddings for Becky who eats only them with carrots and peas) followed by Christmas pud with cream and a different desert for those that don't like it. I nearly always buy in cheese and biscuits that then don't get eaten but I'm not going to this year. Plus the tin of chocs gets opened and the turkish delight and the dates
*wiping away droll - sorry*

I'll be at my sis-in-law's house. We'll be having turkey and ham with a salad, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and definitely some sweet desserts. I'll eat and drink like a pig and roll myself back into the car :p
Oh, but it'll all be worth it

Practically the same as Thanksgiving, only...well...with a ham.
Turkey(Cranberry sauce optional)
Ham
Sweet potatoes
Mashed potatoes(Gravy optional)
Rolls
Cold slaw
stuffing/dressing
deviled eggs
...and my sister in law usually brings green bean casserole...
edited - Oh and usually a pie of some sort...mostly pumpkin, and maybe pecan pie.
If I'm leaving anything out I will remember and post it.

That actually sounds good...
In fact, we always have the same every year(Which I don't mind that much because we don't usually eat that lavishly through the year).
Maybe we could switch places for a year...or maybe we could just get together and eat both. :sneaky:
