Have we ever done this before aside from the "Ask So and So" threads?? I think those are fun.

How about a thread where we pick somebody we don't know very well and ask them a question or two and take turns getting to know one another? Would anyone be interested in trying this?

That's why I'm thinking it might be a slow kindof thread as we wait for people to answer. I might not have thought it out too well. Would you have any ideas on how we could make it work better?

Umm...nothing wrong with slow...it's not like any of us are going to be going anywhere. :wah:

The only thing I can think of in regards to time delay, would be to designate the questions you wish to ask for someone in which you would like to get to know better when they are actually on. :wah:

Thanks K! I have four dogs of my own: a bassett hound, dalmation, cocker spaniel and a terrier-chihuahua mix. I also have three of my own cats: a Himalayan, a tabby-Siamese mix and a very plump tortoiseshell and then I have nine dogs I am fostering until I find them all homes. They are all mixed breeds except for my red-nosed Doberman. The rest are mixes of labrador, pit, possibly Rott, chow, pointer and hound and anybody's guess what else is in there. I have always enjoyed writing...I suppose it's just my style...I just write how I feel, it's up to others to interpret it...:wah:

I would love to get a job writing a sports column...I just know I am terrible at grammar, and I'm afraid if I put all of my time and effort into a job that is not necessarily in demand, that I could have used my time in doing something worthwhile.

If one of your passions is to be a sportswriter, then you shouldn't be stopped by something like grammar. You can always learn that, and like FS said, there are editors. You should reconsider!

Well if I had an editor I could write up a storm...thing is I only like to write about things that interest me, so I'm afraid if one is rather demanding of material, I wouldn't get along with them.

I had actually signed up to be an author at esports.com, and have written a few articles. I cannot remember the editors name, but an admin there edits some of the work alot of people do there...

Granted it was the first time I had ever written anything and I really don't have any experience,..all I know is, is that like to write, and that's more than enough motive for me.

It's funny that you mention that Flopstock, because I always wanted to write about the local racing events around here. When I read some of the articles from the person they have now, to tell you the truth it's rather boring and uneventfully...I hate saying that about anything, but...well, from my perspective I think it's bad. :wah:

I was actually thinking about contacting the race tracks(Shadybowl and KilKare here in Ohio) and seeing if I could write some articles about the events free. I hate the idea of taking someone else's job though...I think to myself "what if the person has kids"...I understand getting what you want takes a little guts, but I'm just too nice of a person to think like that...

I wrote in a journal here last year about the Cincinnati Bengals...I missed a week from being busy and then I lost the passion to keep up with it because of it... [B.]Cincinnati Bengals[./B]

It was just basic color commentating but at least it's writing.

First of all, thank you for being interested!

I *do* take him with me to some places. For example, everyone in CVS knows him -- and they love him, despite his not being *the nicest* little doggie on the planet. I just strap on my doggie carrier and he loves it! He gets to see everyone, yet at the same time feel safe and protected next to his Mommy :-4

When I first got Buster, I thought I was allowed to take him anywhere -- I figured, if I love him so much, who wouldn't?? Well . . . I foolishly took him into a supermarket (mind you, he was in his pouch, secured, strapped to my chest), and wouldn't you know it -- three female customers immediately complained to the manager about it. But they were right: it's a food store, for cryin' out loud. I don't know what I was thinking :rolleyes:

Hubby cannot say NO to him -- ever. Would you believe that, if he is forced to say NO to the dog, he actually says to him: "Your MOTHER says NO!"

That used to bug me

until I realized

To be quite honest, I don't really have an all time favorite record...I know you're talking about albums, but I'm not much of a music junky...I love listening to music don't get me wrong, it's just I only listen to music occasionally, and I don't really follow groups as much as I appreciate single songs...

But to answer your question, I'll tell you what are some of my favorite bands...

(I would also like to point out that here in America, commerce is a dog-eat-dog world, and they never put a numerous amount of "hit" songs on one album, which supports my line of defense. :wah: )

Thats all good, I like most of that stuff as well!

BTW, if you wanna get into writing and journalism, I used to work as an editor for a science publishing company, and I've freelanced for the dailys and all that. My advice is to start writing copy, get the emails of local-ish paper editors, try sending them in with letters explaining what you are about. It is all about copy, if you keep writing it, eventually someone will pick up on you, its not the easiest profession, but if you like it of course its great.

it's a Hyundai.

I've seen the Sonata in Ireland and it looks the same as here. The Elantra is similar...:-6
