Yes, this is what really happened Sunday night...............
Kids sitting still in church is one of the most perplexing problems for parents. They sat still very quietly for Christmas Eve service in church, until the pastor in his ramblings came upon the story of Zacchius up in the tree. (how that fit in with the Nativity, I don’t know!) But on the pastor talked, and got to the part that Zacchius was a crook! Now every little kid I know in church sings the cute song about him up in a tree, and feel like Zacchius at one time or another, being small. Well, the pastor blared it out one more time about Zacchius being a crook, and one little darling shouted in the middle of the sermon, “No he wasn’t! and started singing the song. It brought the house down, and the sermon. I jumped from my pew to the piano to start playing the Zacchius song for the kids. The Pastor was laughing so hard he could hardly stop, and join in the last line of the song.
Bless the little ones!

Zacchaeus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he.
He climbed up in a sycamore tree, for the Lord he wanted to see.
And as the Savior passed him by, He looked up in the tree,
And he said, “Zacchaeus, you come down from there;
For I'm going to your house today, for I'm going to your house today.
Zacchaeus came down from that tree, as happy as he could be,
He gave his money to the poor, and said: “What a better man I'll be."

I can just see you leaping up and hitting the piano, Chonsi!!!!! Awesome!!! And GREAT kids!!! But GEESCH, hard to believe your Minister's choice of text for Christmas Eve!!!!!! This must be one of the few times of the year when most churches get an influx of visitors - so a chance to tell those visitors what Christians believe Christmas is about, and he blows in on Zacchaeus!!! Grin. Kids too, need the "Christmas story". Anyway, the children singing and you playing saved the day. Your joy WAS the message. Happy Christmas.
