One of the reasons I dont go! I wait to go shopping when everything is back up to full price, then I feel better at what a bargain I got right before christmas! :yh_bigsmi

Thats right!! Thats why many people shop now for next Christmas. I dont, but I do shop very conservatively for Christmas, because of this very reason.

Merchandise is actually worth so much less than its ticketed value.

That is so frustrating!

I just bought some tops online at Eddie Bauer on 12/27/06 and they weren't even marked down  I purposely waited until after Christmas to buy them (they were for myself, after all ;) ), and they were still $34.50 each. I just said, "What the #$%%^&&*@!!" and order three of them anyway.

I deserve them, right? :p

My problem is that M and S is my "corner shop." Ten minutes walk down the hill and I'm there. It makes their sale very tempting

It's the same over here. The sales started on the 27th, some of them at 05.00 am. That's too early for even a die hard shopper like me.

They opened Wed here at 05.00 and we went to the shopping centre later on in the afternoon for some fast food and the place was still packed. :-5

I like to shop when there isn't so many people around otherwise I loose patience.

The same here...but, I noticed first thing this morning when I returned some stuff, that they were restocking the per una sale skirts...shame really because I was intending to have my refund returned to my account. But I spent it on a skirt

Sounds like a reasonable result, Buttercup. I popped my head round the door of a big Sydney department store this afternoon. Feeding frenzy going on. So I did a runner and had a quiet coffee instead.

I do remember, one year, fighting my way towards some bath towels. Much needed and at an affordable price for me, at that time. It was worth it.

My old boss bragged how he used to give all his family members, "Gift Charge Cards" for Christmas for that very fact! He said that for the $250 gift card he gave them on Christmas day, that at the after Christmas day sales "they could get well over $500 worth of goodies for that same $250. And also get to pick things out of their "own" choosing, so no returns neded!

Over time, I kinda had to agree with him, so now we get some gifts for our relatives, so they can open some pressies, but always also give a generoius "Gift Charge Card" as well! And all are happy, and they get twice as much! :)
