Well we went to the Circus yesterday at the South FL Fairgrounds. It was great, (our seats were in the 3rd row, 20 ft off the center rink) and we all enjoyed it very much! Some of the acts were amazing, especially these two "double jointed", seemingly "rubber" men, who were just outstanding. Everything was sooooo expensive though, small box popcorn, $8. Cotton Candy $16, but it did come with a funny brimed hat. Pretzel $3, program book $6. Anyway below are a few pix! :)

(PS: Can you tell I finally got a Digi camera for my birthday)

Actually I thought of you Val, & of all the other animal rescures in here. Wondering about what you would think of the Circus animals & their lives!

Their "appearance" seemed to be very well groomed, & very well fed.

But I especially thought of you when I saw the trainer actually keep banging on one of the horses front legs until it finally took a bow. For what it's worth, I didn't particuarly like that part of the act.:wah:

+++++++++++ It varies, of course, depending on the quality of the circus itself. In general, I'd MUCH rather see an all human performance, such as Cirque de Soleil. Most animals don't travel very well and circus life demands that, along with the practices you (might have) witnessed.

That was probably only a hint of how they are treated. If you see something like that, think of what may be going on that you don't see. There are a lot of people who are not necessarily "animal rights people" who have turned against animal circuses. (Circii? :D) I've only been to a local one. Won't go again.

Great pictures Cars, looks like you all had a great time. I remember going to the circus a year or so ago, and that was really good fun, some of the stunts they carry out really were breathtaking!
