Two concepts Ill strive to keep in front of my mind this New Year. There but for the grace of God, go I. And let he who is without sin, cast the first stone. If I can do this.... the possibility of becoming a better person, greatly increases. Although I strive to be decent, kind, fair minded, open minded, understanding, loving, tolerant and honest.... I am always only a work in progress. I have had moments of being cruel, short tempered, irrational, angry, defiant, and close minded. It has only been through living, learning, trusting, and taking risks that I have been able to eliminate some negative behaviors. I will renew my belief daily that it is the responsibility of elders to teach by example, and to share lessons learned with others who are not as far along on their journey through life. With these thoughts uppermost in my mind, it could be possible for me to make a positive contribution to the world I live in. It will be tough because it will be difficult to not get angry in the face of ignorance, bitterness, hostility, and fear.... but Ill try. Im going to start today.... tomorrow, New Years Day, Ill be one day ahead. Here goes....
