We spoke on the phone last night and Pompom wanted to thank you for your thoughts and best wishes. I told her that, once things have settled in real life, I'm not going to stop nagging her to come back to FG. She'll get so fed up with me that I just know she'll be back :sneaky:

I went to Manly beach on the ferry, as I usually do on New Year's Day, and it was full of the Barmy Army cricket enthusiasts.. grin.

Hamster, it was quiet until midnight...then the school not far from here gave the most beautiful firework display, it almost rivalled the one on televison! Unfortunately my cat had decided he wanted to pop out at 10 to 12 and, not expecting the fireworks, I let him go. He came back this morning!! I have to be honest, the nosie was horrendous and even I came inside after a few minutes....but the display was spectacular :-6

Real life, Nomad, and its attendant problems. But I've assured her that I'll give her only a short while to get back here!!

Well, Hammy, if I'm still here next year, I shall be forewarned and keep Fergus indoors. But, that said, I really enjoyed the display, even though I cried...mind you I'll cry at anything, given half a chance :-5
