MINNEAPOLIS Police say a Wisconsin man is lucky to only have a broken leg after falling nearly 17 stories from a Minneapolis hotel.

Police say 29-year-old Joshua Hanson crashed through a window at the Hyatt Regency and landed on a roof overhang near the hotel's main entrance.

Police say he and two friends were drinking before they returned to the hotel -- and they might have been horsing around as an elevator took them to the 17th floor.

For some reason, Hanson ran toward a floor-to-ceiling window. Police say he apparently lost his balance and crashed through.

Heard about that this morning.

Crazy.

What kind of overhang did he land on?

A concrete awning type thingy/ a rain and snow dealy where the uhh bellhops hang out.

The concrete broke his fall.

He's down to eight lives now.

I knew someone who crashed through a window like that with no fall and almost died from the glass cutting his wrist.

The guy's down to seven lives left.

He had to be totally wasted to only break an ankle even if a ledge stopped his fall. You hit like a ton of brick so the drunker you are the better..
