So yesterday afternoon, I'm up here typing away when I hear a bunch

of "clomping" around on our (wooden) front porch. Pretty loud kids

voices. Saying "What the heck?" to myself, I go downstairs to investigate.

4 little boys (8-ish?) out there, I open the door and said "Hey guys

what's goin' on?" And one of them pipes up with "He ran in here and we

just came in to find him and now we're takin' a break"... about all I could

do to keep from cracking up... so one little boy (sitting on my front steps)

turns around and asks "Is that okay?" and I said "Well I'd rather you didn't"

(and gave reasons) so the little boy stands up and they all start to leave

so I said "It's okay you can finish your break" and all FOUR of them

said "THANK YOU". I went upstairs again and they were out there for

another 10-15 mins, happily chatting away.

Soooo CUTE!!

I only wish that my kids will grow up to be so polite!

How cute..and very polite. I am reminded of the time we put our old hose out front, figuring someone would take it..our intention. So, later in the day, a knock at the door..a boy from down the road. "Umm...I saw that hose...can I have it? Please." I asked why? He said " I want to poke holes in it and see if I can make a sprinkler. Dad won't let me poke holes in ours." How could I say no? He did thank me. I have been hoping to see him to ask if it worked.

Nice. It is good to see children with manners..it is something that is sorely lacking in some. Personally I taught my Wee Yin to say please and thank you from a young age.

As my grandmother used to say.."manners do not cost anything". :)
