Cash machines - where was the first?

They've been around for quite some time, and we all use then, but where was the first one to be installed? I know somebody out there will be able to help. Thanx.

If someone wants to have a crack at solving it, it's on page 62 of Chat magazine, and there's £250.00 if your's is the first one out of the bag. I've got a few clues, but they're quite difficult this week. It's E N _ I _ _ _
I don't feel I'm cheating, bucause I've been doing them for years and have never won anything - not even an orange.
Has anybody had any luck on these competipion magazines?

Don Wetzel was the co-patentee and chief conceptualist of the automated teller machine, an idea he said he thought of while waiting in line at a Dallas bank. At the time (1968) Wetzel was the Vice President of Product Planning at Docutel, the company that developed automated baggage-handling equipment. The other two inventors listed on the patent were Tom Barnes, the chief mechanical engineer and George Chastain, the electrical engineer. It took five million dollars to develop the ATM. The concept of the modern ATM first began in 1968, a working prototype came about in 1969 and Docutel was issued a patent in 1973. The first working ATM was installed in a New York based Chemical Bank.

My first ATM card was about about ?1977? - a thin plastic card with holes punched through it needing a 6 digit PIN and a limit of about £10.

The first cash machine was in Enfield London, installed on the 27th June 1967.
They even have a plaque there to commemorate the occasion.

The first cash machine was in Ireland of course, and it was made in April 1876 and it was installed in Birr Co. Offaly, it was problematic because it was steam powered and the coal kept running out, the cards were made from wrought iron, also the largest amount of money it would hand out was only 12 shillings and thrupence, so the initial take up was slow, of course someone copped onto the idea years later and the rest is history.
