Have you ever told a lil white lie to spare someones feelings, because you knew they could not face the truth?

Unfortunately no. Not that I can recall.

If necessary, I refuse to answer the question but usually tell them "you don't want to know the answer"

I slip sometimes.

A co-worker once fretted in front of the mirror about the roots of her hair showing. I said "well, it's not like anyone thinks that is your real hair colour". :o

Apparently that was the intention.

I didn't know. I used to colour mine purple, bright red, jet black etc. It hadn't crossed my mind to pretend it was real.

People who know me, only ask if they REALLY want to know the truth!

Yes I have and I still do tell fibs. If someone thinks their new hair looks good but they want to be reassured, I'm not going to tell them it looks bad and burst their bubble. There are other little instances that are so minor I can't think of them now but in many cases, I feel it's more important to spare someone's feelings. Not all cases, sometimes the truth must be told but in general.

Yes, if I thought they could not handle the truth I would always try to save their feelings. :-6
