My little ones birthday party is this weekend. Since her birthday is on Fat Tuesday, I was going to make it Mardi Gras themed! I had planned for a cake for everyone, and a tiny cake of her own, mini shrimp poboys, and a fruit and veggie platter with creole dip for the veggies. So as my husband and I went shopping for the party supplies, beads and so on, he got sad that we weren't having a 1st birthday party for her, and it wasn't pink and pretty! NOW, I have no idea what to make! Any suggestions? The party starts at 2:00pm Thanks!!

Since she's only one and probably won't remember this party, you could go on to have the pink princess theme for your husband. The food will still be great even if it's mardi gras food! You could have two cakes- the King Cake for the adults and the pink fluffy birthday cake for your daughter. Just combine everything! It'll be more festive that way and people love a party regardless of the theme. It's your daughter's birthday that's the important thing!!
