Nature's magic is all around us...we just have to look.

I saw the coolest thing tonight. My friend and I were in town and it was dark. We drove past the remnant wooden post of a street sign and we saw a familiar shape perched on top of it. That unmistakeable owl shape. We drove by closer and sure enough it was an owl; looked grayish in the passing headlights. Maybe a western screech owl or a pygmy but I'm not up on my owls to know. But it was just perched there so beautifully and unafraid. I live in a desert town and to see the owl on this sign post surrounded by scrub and bushes knowing town life was probably completely unaware of its presence, even though he was very present himself, was really something. He should have been a painting, it was that cool. It's not often we see owls out here and I am really struck by it. Had it happened in the day it would have been cool too but the night aspect just gave it that witchiness that's hard to describe. Nature amazes me. :)

Cool, I love this stuff, I live in the Irish countryside, which is a nice place to live, and I get to see stuff often when I walk the dog up the hills or along the river, the other day I had a close encounter with a mink (which is similar to a ferret or a weasel if you are wondering), then the following day I saw a sparrowhawk, which is a smallish bird of prey, like a Kestrel, with another bird it had just caught in its talons, very cool indeed. So yes, nature is fantastic, and its such a shame that we often don't take the time to look, even in urban areas you can be lucky and see many animals and birds, I remember being accosted by a hawk once cycling in Dublin city centre, very cool experience, and foxes and all that of course. So, thanks RG, keep on spotting. :-6

I live on a golf course - and didn't think I'd like it (privacy). The daily golfers don't even effect me anymore, although real weird looking at times.

We have a family of hawks, at times they perch themselves on our fence or a near by tree - cool. The wing span will cast a shadow - just cool.

The other day there was this owl perched on a pole - it was the coolest and the first time I'd seen the owl - heard the owl several times, but seeing it was breath taking.

Of course I have a million rabbits running around and I use to see Road Runners (which is a bird) our State bird. Road Runners are rare.

The wild life here is cool and I really enjoy

I have a Hummingbird that will come up to me - daily - cool - love it.

cool RG! I read somewhere that owls are a symbol of good luck! :-6

we live in the country and get to see a lot of deer wandering around on a regular basis, even hanging out on our property.

yesterday a roadrunner ran in front of my car, they're cool to see. :-6
