I really miss him! I know he started out way before the 70s, but as that's my era, that's how I came to know him.
That voice, and those jokes! He wasn't as crass as some of today's DJ's, and his trademark howl was sooo funny, and cool.
It was so sad he died the day he retired. It would have been fun to see his perspective on some of the things that have occurred, or even as a possible judge on American Idol!

Its interesting you post this - is it a anniversay time for him?
I just saw a old interview with Wolfman - he had a very unique voice, style.
Good old days - right along with American Band Stand..

Not that I know of. I was listening to a song, "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You", which has a sampling of Wolfman in it, and got nostalgic.

We were just talking about him not too long ago.
When did he die??
And I didn't know that he died on day of retirement...that's a shame.
I'd much rather listen to him 24/7 than nasty whatshisname....

Curiously enough I've heard of him but through films like american graffiti. We had radio caroline and luxemburg. I vaguely remember when radio caroline sank.
I suppose our equivalent icon is Tony Blackburn:yh_rotfl

I do miss some of the clothes from that era, like angel wing tops. I had a great one made of gauze, so comfortable to wear in Florida's humidity!
