In the central valley of California, there is a town called "Manteca" which

means LARD in Spanish. Can you imagine introducing yourself to someone:

"Hi, Susie Smith from LARD California"!!

;) :D :)

Hey, only real towns allowed, Abbey!

How about "Truth or Consequences, New Mexico" We also have a "Cuba" My town used to be called "Porter" since the trains stopped here a lot. But everyone decided that "man who carries luggage" was a dumb name for a town, so we looked around at all the cool Native American, Aztec, and Hispanic names available to us, then changed it to "Farmington"

Hell, Michigan. Not such a strange name, per se, but it's ironic that it's where all the bikers go at the beginning of each riding season to have our bikes blessed. Each year a new sticker is given out reading "Blessed in Hell."

Also ironic, it gets so cold here in Michigan, that every year, Hell freezes over. :yh_devil
