Got Milk ?
Whats that got to do with a blizzard ? Absolutely nuthin !
Anyone love storms ?
For the second time in less than a week, a major winter storm will affect a large portion of the northern Plains, Upper Midwest western Great Lakes and the interior Northeast.
Heavy snow producing significant accumulations and blizzard conditions, plus freezing rain and ice are all possible from this intense winter storm.
Nice ! :-6

Apparently they had to make this rain from milk so you could see the rain onscreen.
So it is kinda connected. :wah:

In case you are housebound for a day or two or the roads are so badly damaged or your cars blown away or for whatever reason you can't get to the shops. Gas and electric will be off and no attempt should be made to use them in case power lines or pipes are damaged. So people will need food and water for a couple of days and milk is a food as well as a drink. Its good for kiddies too who often won't drink plain water. Also, water may be polluted if pipes become damaged.
It's interesting that in the 1906 San Franciscan earthquake, many gas pipes were broken during the quake. Following the quake, one woman tried to cook breakfast, she turned on her gas and started a huge fire which became known as the "ham and eggs fire". It raged across the city and met up with another huge fire and together they decimated most of San Francisco. At the time there was only one major water pipeline leading into the city and that had been broken during the quake!
Where Market Street is in downtown SF is where the fire burned brightest. No houses were rebuilt there so Market Street is now an incredibly wide road, however it is also a natural firebreak should such a catastrophe ever occur again.
Here endeth the history lesson for today.

Got Milk ?
I am reminded of a winter a few years back. A "major storm" was due to arrive..they were even closing schools ahead of time, in prep for this storm.
Now, on this particular Sunday, I was doing my regular shopping trip. And yes, as it happened I did need milk. there was NO MILK on the shelf...at all..none. In front of the empty milk case was a big sign asking "Got Milk?" Now I find it inconcieveable that the entire city feels a sudden need to buy milk when a major storm is due. Candles? Maybe. Batteries..OK. but milk? A conspiracy this is.
Oh, by the way..this major storm? Less than 2 inches of snow.
