Yesterday I had to go on a Road trip, so I filled my car's gas tank to the tune of $2.62 per gal for unleaded regular. :wah: (Last week it was $2.29)

SO IS THE PRICE OF GAS GOING UP IN YOUR AREA ALSO!

Actually I live in a small town with three stations, every Thursday they all raise the prices and lower them on Mondays. Nasty isn't it. And several of us did some research, we get our gasoline about 1000 feet away (across the rive into Canada)

We are paying $1.09 a liter. That works out to around $4.12 a gallon.

Glad that's you guys, & not us! But unfortunately, most of your cars there get probably 40+ mpg, where our gas guzzlers here get an avg of 12 to 16mpg, so it's kinda a wash! ;)

What sort of power, size and weight do these behemoths have? Perhaps you

could refer to a very "popular", bog-standard car?

It seems the most "popular" gas guzzlers here the last several years are behemouth SUV's, with 250hp+ V6 engines, many even with 350hp+ V8's! Many of them only average between 11 to 14 mpg. And then there are the guzzler V6 & V8 cars also, that avgerage between 16 to 24mpg. The masses here would not stand for a bog-standard car, as many here believe you are what you drive! :wah:

My car is okay on gas. It's not one of the best though. Because I am what I drive.:wah:

Isn't it true to say that the most popular car in the 'States is a Toyota Corolla?

How much of that is taxes? How many wells and/or refineries do you have? What are the transportation costs in delivering the petrol to your stations? Honestly wondering. :D

Not hardly!! The Corolla is a cutsie type of car, & that how it's preceived here. The most popular of the Toyota's (if one was to own a Toyota) here is the loaded down with options V6 Camry. I myself have three "V6" cars, one gets 25 to 27mpg, one gets 19 to 21mpg, & the last gets 20 to 22mpg. So my overall avg: 22.3mpg So My cars are still guzzlers compaired to the 40+mpg cars!
