K, all I can say is advertise anywhere you can stick your information. Seriously. Search engine, t shirt, pens/pencils, (can be made cheap, leave them in strategic places) most definitely business cards (
www.vistaprint.com), newspaper ads, flyers, store bulletin boards, local tv channel and radio spots, restaurant paper placemats, chamber of commerce/town business bureau/ vistors center, just anywhere you can think of that will permit you. Del Taco will sometimes allow you to put your ad on their take-out bags. Make stacks of flyers and ask your local pizza house to glue them onto their pizza boxes. Advertising isn't always cheap but not advertising is downright costly.

Those are some good ideas...
Wanted to know what type of program would be the best as far as advertising on the internet as well...
Anyone know if Adword is the best, or anything like that?

Not exactly...
I would, if I thought that would work though.

What sort of site is it? You can add it to Google for free, make banners and add that to profiles on some sites.

I have a friend who's trying to set up her own discussion site for people with disabilities, and I want to help her as much as I possibly can.

Oh another one. If it's just a forum then it'll probably need a lot of advertising to start with. Also I'd suggest not opening it until it's finished otherwise I find people tend not to come back unless they're friends already.

I haven't seen very many forums discussing disabilities, so hopefully it will work out.

Yeah someone else tried to start one but by the looks of it has no experience. Hopefully this one will work out better.

I would also suggest getting a domain name, I don't know about others but I myself am put off by the free forums.
