Does anyone here have sleep apnea? I've had it for years and these last two months it's gotten considerably worse. I know about the special machine but short of that, is there anything I can do so I'm not waking up every half hour unable to breathe??! :( I'm starting to sleep sitting up which is ridiculous!

I need to do some research on this RG, I'm thinking I might be sufferring from it.

I snore really bad and wake up during the night alot, and wake up in alot of pain.

Not sure what my problem is...I know I need to start excercising...

Pain? That doesn't sound good. I've never had pain but I am a terrible snorer, even wake myself up and it's nothing to wake up five or seven times a night gasping for breath because I've forgotten to breathe. Then I'm tired all day.:-5

See, I've been told that sleep is interupted and you don't get a good nights rest.

It doesn't sound good to me that you forget to breathe...:(

Since I quit smoking, I don't cough in mornings, and I bought a new bed, so I thought my sore-ness would get better...but it isn't...:-5

If the machine you're thinking of is a CPAP they are supposed to work

really well but have you ever seen one of those things? If I had to use

one I'd never FALL asleep let alone STAY asleep...

Unfortunately, the one thing that will work really well is the one thing

most difficult to do... lose weight.

I have two family members with Sleep Apnea and after trying everything else have gone to the machine. It's saved two marriages.

I wonder whether this is cyclical? A year of 8 ago, I did some work involving

pesticide-like substances. I could not sleep properly, at all, for quite some time,

having the thought that if I should close mine eyes, that they would never re-

open. Dozing was all that I could do, and that was uncomfortable, and I would

come to with a start. Environmental considerations? Just a thought.

That's a good point Bill. They're always cropdusting where I live and that stuff tends to bother people. Usually with cold like symptoms but I wouldn't rule that out as a possibility.

The last couple of nights I woke myself up from snoring really lightly. As I have a bad cold.

I should do a little investigation into what is being sprayed ("dusted"). I cannot

comment in detail, but what crops are being dusted with what pesticides? You

can, of course (and this is purely a guess :( ) do a 'Net search on

"organophosphate" and any symptoms of anything worrying that you feel that

you may have.
