I was going to put this in my "later!" thread, but I wasn't sure if enough people would see it.



Somehow, some people here have decided that I quit for negative reasons - that I've been 'run off'. Nothing could be further than the truth. I wanted to save this news until I could announce the final results, but just to settle any rumors and possibly keep others from claiming me as their last straw ....



I'm studying for my teaching certification! :yh_dance I'm going to be a teacher. I test for special education cert April 14, then I take a night class and another test in June. Assuming I can get myself hired, I start my 1-year internship in August (that's when the school year starts in the US).



I have to take a break from FG because it's too much fun, not because of any stress. I tried reducing my time here and that just didn't work. I'll be back. Why would I not be?? :-2

Okay, I know I've left and I'm only in the arcade, but I'm so, so proud of our Acc that I couldn't resist saying, "You're a real star, Accountable and I love you to bits."

Well done accountable, I am delighted that people of your quality are rolling up to be teachers, the kids need a bit of sense knocked into them, (though nowadays that can't be done literally of course, damn.). Well done, a real achievement, I am very happy for you. :-6

A Teacher, wow, what a great profession to choose! Molding the minds of our young, there can be no better profession. :yh_clap We'll miss ya, so do come back here when you can.

Im very proud of you and extremely happy for you. It seems like the perfect fit for you and Ive no doubt you'll be outstanding in the field. After all you've taught all of us a few things along the way. Go get em tiger.

Teaching is a very tough profession and I admire anyone who aspires to educate our children. As a substitute I KNOW the teachers who have respect and give respect, therefore their students are always better behaved. It was a really bad experience for me the first 2 years and then the kids got to know me - as with their real teachers - and now I enjoy it.

Be prepared to have at least 1 or 2 special ed kids in your class - they don't separate them anymore but they do bring in teachers for 1 on 1 for about 45 minutes a day. Be prepared to have 5% of your class gifted - have extra for them to do - they get very bored. Most of the other kids will only work to get a "C" and be seen as "COOL" but you can inspire some of them to get out of their clique to aspire to their true potential.

I really admire you............I don't think I could teach full time.
