Have you ever dated, had a boss, a friend or anyone, who the more they speak the more you know they have no idea about what they are talking about.

But they try to sound cool !

And they just keep going, our new pharmacist is like that, sure retail pharmacy is different from hospital, or medical supply pharmacy, but this guy is starting to scare me, drugs that he should know the generics to , if he has been a pharmacist for 12 years, ah, no way dude, you are not filling a prescription for me or any of my loved ones, last time I felt this way, and reported my suspicion, I was right! But that pharmacist was arrested at our store for stealing narcotics,

how would I go about tactfully probing with questions?,

Sounds like something worth making sure of. That's not the kind of job that mistakes are acceptable in.

Next time he shows some ignorance of something that should be obvious I'd ask him straight out why he doesn't know that. But I'm blunt.

I would actually report them to your superiors...If I weren't comfortable with them filling my prescription I wouldn't want them to fill others' as well.

This is seriously disturbing.

The pharmacist bit.

I had a doctor put an extra "0" on the end of a prescription dosage and the pharmacist didn't ask any questions. It was an insane amount. Could have been a major catastrophe if it had been some other types of drug.

Maybe, he is just trying to make friends with everyone! It is hard when you are a new person working in retail. There are certain clicks. Next time he does not know something, ask him why. I know are pharmacy people are excellent at our retail store where I work. I seem to fit into all the different clicks in the store, everyone seems to like me. I must be lucky, because you rarely see that happen.

I have a friend that was married to a guy like that. He always told us how he was going to get this HUGE job promotion that never happened, told others he was a boss there, some he told he owned the business. He always had these major job offers that never came through. :wah: Now some other woman is stuck with him and we don't have to listen to his lies any more. :D

I know many people like that, I just listen then say nothing and they get all defensive and say stupid things like "are you mad at me, you never talk to me"

Or I will engage them in a topic I know quite a bit on and laugh when they screw up.

Hey that is just how Spot talks to me hmmmmm I better be more careful.

Hit him up with something that doesn't exist and see how much he knows about it. Have a witness nearby.

i.e I was working in an auto parts store when a regular customer called and asked me for a water pump for a Porsche 911.

i spent 45 minutes searching the books before a co-worker told me that 911's are air cooled!:-3

Set the bait and see if he bites.;)
