Geez !!! I have no idea how to contace Magenta. Hope she has gone to the hospital. It may be muscular, but more sinister causes must be ruled out as a matter of urgency!!!!!!! Has anyone heard?

I'm glad that's all it is (not like that isn't enough!) and that it wasn't something worse with that tingle going on.

Magenta, I have four bulging discs in my neck, one pinching/pressing a nerve, and suffer daily what you're describing. I'm sorry you're going through this pain.

Stretches, deep massage, and hot and cold compresses help. One of the easiest stretches is to place your hands on a door jamb, shoulder height, and gradually lean forward, stretching the muscles in your chest. You can also do this in a corner, with your arms bent at the elbow, one foot forward, the other back. Hold for twenty, switch legs, hold twenty, repeat.

Sit with your upper back perfectly straight, supported, and try to keep the affected shoulder back and down. Tuck your chin in, almost to the point of having a double chin, and hold for twenty, release. Do this several times.

Get a good support pillow, gusseted, for whichever position you normally sleep in. If you're a side sleeper, like me, try to avoid sleeping on the affected side as much as possible. Long, hot showers help greatly, esp. on cold mornings. At night, keep that shoulder warm, so it won't freeze up.

If you're given a pain killer, take it before pain sets in, as in the AM. Drink lots of water, as it helps the offended discs as well.

Hope these suggestions help. Of course, you should run them past your doctor first, to be sure they'll benefit you.

I am glad to hear you are better. I had something similar happen to me a few years back. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and it was not a pleasant experience.

Time. It'll take about 3 days to get better, and if you've had it once, it may

happen again. I don't think there's any medical cure. I got this when I was

at school, and on one or two occasions had to go in with my left ear apparently

glued to my left shoulder. Haven't had a recurrence for ages, though (this all if

a "ricked" neck is the same as a "cricked" neck).
