I used ot think i knew what love was

i gave my heart away to a man who

said the words...

to hear the words was such a buzz

but then i came to see that he really

didnt know me

he did not bother to hear what i thought

he was done with me

he thought i was caught

i dreamed dreams of love and light

while he maneuvered through the fright

i gave all of me that i had

even though he continuously told me i was bad

he demanded and insisted that if i only gave more

i would eventually get the love i wanted like a score

after years and years of losing in this game

i called the forfit and walked away

because you see i finally learned

love is not about taking and promising what might be

life is too short to wait on what might be around the corner

and i have learned that promises of one day were as shallow and false as he..

i think i dove too deep in my bowl....:wah: thanks pinky....
