I worked with a Woman that would say things similar to that...and I got to the point where I was very blunt about my eye-rolling. I do think that there is a fine line between the two.

Confidence is something I lack, but arrogance I hope to never ever obtain.

Ughh people like that always make my stomach turn over and I end up vurping alittle.

what's sad is that one day her little bubble will burst and she'll have to face the fact she's been living her own little world to actually belive something like that.

When it comes across as blatant bragging and horn tooting, that is arrogance in my eyes.

I mean all the power to anybody for their own successes but to be a braggart about it... I too would tune it all out and walk away. :-5

Funny you should bring up this topic. I just had an almost identical experience this past Tuesaday. Ive worked for THIS woman for almost 10 years. Id call her attitude superior. She made some comments to a young man who was working for me at her house that day, He was really upset. He felt he couldnt reply the way he felt, because he was being paid to work there. I wanted to ring her neck. With her it comes from believing she has al of lives spiritual answers, and that she is like a chosen messenger. Im going to have a talk with her this week. Annoying me is one thing, I swallow it and deal with it. But upsetting him, I will not tolerate.

She's always been fairly confident, but today she came out with an absolute classic - she and a few others were talking about diets and figures and other stuff that I usually tune out of when I heard her say 'Well, everyone I know says they'd love to look like me.'

My immediate thought was crikey, how arrogant do you sound? Second thought was biting my lip really, really hard in case I came out with the fact that she's actually got a face like a bag of spanners (see what I mean about biting the lip?) and lastly, I wondered if I was being a bit harsh, and is it just that she has the confidence to say that she thinks she's great?

I think there is a fine line between the two.

Oh where does she get off?? I would have told her to get over herself:wah:

In truth, people who go on about themselves like that all the time just come across as trying to convince themselves...it's a bit sad really.

Gross, I work with someone like her. She thinks everyone is jealous of her because she's pretty. (She's not. She's got more tracks on her face than Rand McNally's got roads!)

She actually said that looks matter and that she would never consider going with anyone that wasn't good looking. Of course, her first two marriages were to wife beaters. But, hey, they were good looking! :D

Maybe she knows, deep down, she's not 'all that' and turns her nose up so people don't approach her. That way she doesn't get turned down and get embarrassed.

Confidence has no mask.

Arrogance is a mask of insecurity, jealousy and vanity.
