I can honestly say that I've never longed for a big house, or anything posh...anywhere I live will be home! What I would love to do though is buy a castle or a manor house, restore it all and hold historical theme weekends!

It'll never happen, but that's what I'd do if I had the money.

I couldn't live in some big 'ol place either (who the heck would clean it?? :p )

I just love looking at houses! :D

Sounds like you don't need a house, you need a worker! :D

I've always wanted a castle! Secret passageways and big fireplaces, the works.

If I can't have that, I would love to have a Victorian house complete with antiques. I LOVE antiques!

The only problem with those houses are there are no closets and I like wardrobes for other things. But not as a closet!

I love this thread!!

I have three dreamhouses. Everybody who knows me well knows how much I crave Victorian houses. I am crazy nuts about them. If I pass one, my head will be hanging out the car window like a golden retriever. I am on it.

My first choice is a Second Empire or Mansard style house. This is your typical haunted house. A house like The Munsters had. I would go without food to live in a house like this.

My second choice would be a standard Queen Anne. This is the house with all the rambling shapes involved, and onion roofs and widows walks and whatnot.

From every place I've ever been, there's a photo of me sitting on the steps of some old house. I seek them out. They find me. I fall out of the car, camera in hand and trespass on people's land so I can take 57 pictures of their house. I have no shame. Most people are really nice about it though.

My third choice and the one I've been thinking about more lately, would be an old villa in Tuscany. I think living on a sun-drenched hill amidst cypress trees and those incredible landscape colors in a 200 or 400 year old house would be the best.

:)
