Am just back from holidays

I just got in last nite from a weeks Vacation in the lovely Province of British Columbia, that is the next province west of me the province that borders the Pacific Ocean.
We headed out Last Saturday morning on the nothern route known as the Trans Canada hiway, we got 3+ hours away and were held up on the hiway, we waited there for 5 hours before they finally told us to turn around and go back. With the spring thaw of our snowpack in the mountains this happnes a lot, there was a mud slide. Pity we sat so long not knowing there was hope for the road to become passable again. At this point it would have been closer to go back home, but we had our holidays ahead. We backtracked to the last town Golden then turned south and headed to a place we frequent yearly called Fairmont, we rented a cabin for the night then left on our way early the next day. We travelled about another 6 hours till we reached our destination of Kelowna (if we had gone the other hiway we would have shaved 3 hours off our time). We have a great time here, we were in a gorgeous upscale condo on the lake, we had all the facilities we could imagine. The weather was hot, we got up to 26C on our hottest day for me that is hot. We spent our time touring the local wineries, and vinyards, and hitting up quite a few wine tastings. Wow you learn a lot from them. We ate out as some lovely places, 2 times at the gorgeous upscale Summerhill Winery Veranda, one night watching the sun set over the lake as we dined, very romantic with the exception I was with my folks and no man of my own how sad is that. We went to a little place called Carmeli's which was a goat cheese producer and had another tasing of about 20 awesome cheeses (CHRIS I thought of you here you would have loved the cheeses) and we also got to sample and buy gellato made from goats milk OMG that was to die for. Yes we brought home cheese yes indeed, my fave is an aged red wine soaked white cheese yummmy. We did a bit of sight seeing by car since dad does not walk well, and mom and I took a few wanders but not far, always concerened about dad. Friday we went on a tasting and tour of "TREE" brewing company, yes Minks was in heaven, she was in a brewery whooot whooot and I bought and brought home some great beers. Hahaha an 8 pack of 4 different kinds, a wheat beer and a stout hehehehe look at me huh sheesh.
The trip home was a long drive to the south, took us all day, as we stopped to eat 2 times and a potty break.
On the way out we saw 2 black bears, on both ways we saw deer. I do have pics I will load later, I am off to take Jr Minks to work firstl.
