Hi everyone,

I thought this afternoon i would make a maderia cake. I have cealiacs disease so i cant have gluten. So i have to bake it with special ingredients. Fingers crossed it should come out ok. It finishes cooking at 250pm. I though that i would start to bake a little. I actually really like baking. This comes from a woman who could burn water. Before i was diagnosed with cealiacs i could not cook anything. Now i have to look at different things to eat, that are ok for me, but has a variety. You cant have fast convientant food with cealiacs, it has to be like fresh plain meat etc. No flour or wheat etc. A lot of gluten free ready made products are expensive and i dont think they are too great either. It is actually cheaper to cook and freeze stuff and bake. I even cook my own bread. I know i am sad, i love seeing people enjoying the food i cook from scratch. It gives me a boost. Well now i have waffled, i will go and check on my cake.

Take care.

Hows it turned out?

My friends got cealiacs too, and i find it really bad how little choice of food you get to pick from, i know supermarkets are starting new ranges for cealiacs but like you say i think they are way too pricey!

I must admit i think the cake has turned out well. I might be biased though:D Sainsburys is fairly good for gluten free and really surprising was Aldis has the most gluten free products, as Aldis is the cheapest place to go, that is great for me. Now the only thing i have to buy that is specialised is the flour.

Take care.

I also love baking.. Baking is really fun. Let me share one of the recipes:

Munchie Mars Cake

3.5g hash or bud

Or 20g leaves

400g of Rice Krispies

3 Large Mars Bars

200g cooking Chocolate

20g Butter

Melt 10g butter in a non-stick pan over a low heat.

Chop the mars bars into small pieces and add to the pan. Melt slowly and make sure it doesn't burn. You shouldn't need to stir too much.

You will need to either grind or grate down the cannabis, and then you can either add all of cannabis to the melting mars bars or add half to the chocolate topping.

Once the mars bars are melted turn the heat off and add the rice crispies. Mix in well.

Spread the mixture into a small cake tin; make sure it is quite a thin layer. Leave to cool.

Melt the remaining butter in a pan. Chop the chocolate into pieces and add to the melted butter. Melt slowly over a low heat.

Spread the chocolate on top of the mars mixture and leave to cool. Cut the crispie cake into squares and enjoy.

You can eat these still warm or straight from the fridge. If you eat them chilled make sure they are thin otherwise they can be a bit difficult to eat.
