Hair in my FOOD!!

Today my sister-in-law and I went to my favorite chinese resturant for lunch. I know the owner, have known him for over 10 years. My sister in law had never been there before, and shortly after she tells me that her meal was really good, she stopped mid-sentence to pull a hair out of her food!! She pulled it up and showed it to me, and says "look, it is multi-colored and short, it looks like a cat hair":eek: :yh_sick

I went to the owner and told him, he laughed and said "Cat hair"???? Well it was evidentally a brissel from a wire brush cleaner which explaines why it basically disentegrated on my finger...cat hair wouldn't of done that...

The nice thing was, the lunch was free on the house due to her finding whatever that was. She was STILL hungry...couldn't eat anymore--obviously.

So it brought me to this question, due to hearing funny stories through the years about finding hair in your food when you eat out at a resturant.

Do you continue to eat? Throw a fit? Demand not to pay for it?? Any funny stories to share?

After some rude uncontrolable gagging (I gag easily) I would politely tell the waiter to take the food away and then would have to leave. I would not be able to eat after that. Bleck it gives me the heebeejeebees just thinking about a hair in my food.

I would just eat around where it had been. I figure I've probably had worse things in my mouth than a hair.

Although...once I got a soda from Jerk in the Box and I sucked up through the straw what appeared to be rat poop. That was very upsetting.

It's only a hair, wouldn't kill you. I wouldn't be impressed but as we all have hair (apart from Jimbo) it's easily done. There are a lot worse things I could think of to find in my mouth.

If they're dishing up cats, well - I would stop going there, unless the taste of their flesh appeals to you. If it's a bristle from a wire brush, it ain't a hair. If it disintigrated on your finger, that proves it's not from a wire brush, and has at least been cooked properly. If it's an isolated incident, ignore it. Transfer the offending hair from your mouth to the tines of your fork, or the bowl of your spoon, and deposit it without remark on the edge of your plate. Continue.
