Here is one of the 2 fire pits that were at the top of this mountain...it's to the right and off a bit...It's a real deep one, I didn't get a good shot of the other one....the b/f was sitting on the rocks though, so whoever built it did a good job.

Wonderful pics Wendy. When I have one of my homesick spells, I sould remind myself of all the beautiful mountains and scenery here. It is a very pretty state. :-4

We have 'blue mountain', does it run all across PA? :-6

I love the Mountains...we don't have them where I live, have to drive about an hour or so to them and then I can drive 2 hours and be at the Beach....so I'm not complaining!!

Pheasy, I looked up Blue Mountains for you...

Blue Mountain is a ridge that forms the eastern (southeastern) edge of the Appalachian mountain range in Pennsylvania. It cuts across the eastern half of the state from New Jersey to Maryland, providing a distinct boundary between a number of Pennsylvania's geographical and cultural regions. To its northwest side are the southern and central mountains and valleys, the "coal region", and the Poconos. To its southeast side are the Cumberland Valley, the "capital region", Pennsylvania Dutch Country, and the Lehigh Valley.

Thanks Wendy. I need to find out where our nearest beach is - I will look it up. We live on this lake, its wonderful - but apparently becomes a bit busy in the summer. I love going there with the kids and dogs.

That is beautiful... Pennsylvania has some beautiful state parks with lakes. I will be going to Pine Creek in July...I'll have some BEAUTIFUL pictures to share then too!

As far as a beach on the Ocean....my un-educated guess would be New Jersey...I tried to Google...but it didn't work well for me.:(

Quakers?? You mean the Amish? Never heard them called that before, sorry!

I'd never make fun of them. They're very serious, religious, hard-working people.

Great pics!

Hubby and I vacation in the Smoky Mountains. Gorgeous in the autumn. I enjoy seeing the occasional waterfalls.

We'll be taking our vacation next month up there. Can't wait. We're taking our Jayco camper with us. so we'll be roughing it up with air-conditioning and indoor plumbing.:wah:

Here's a pic of the mountains last autumn and one of our home awy from home.
