Pinky and me went to Tamworth Castle! It rained like mad, Thunder and lightning, even! Anyway you can have a look at a few pics if you like!

Aww Dubs you lucky people. I wish I could come over and meet you all. Well maybe soon. :-4 Thanks for the pics Dubs - its unbelievable what can come of this wonderful place. It brings tears too my eyes to think of the wonderful times that have come out of the FG friendships.
And, I agree, Pinky absolutely stunning - even the rain could not hide that fact.

Actually, seeing the Staffordshire and Warwickshire signs reminded me that the garden in my last house was exactly bisected by the county border. The house and first half of the garden were in Warwickshire and the bottom half of the garden was in Staffordshire

Great pics you lot, pinky you look lovely, and hey! my auntie lives in Tamworth as well. I was there last year after the villa game! Jaysus I didn't realize that the castle was so nice or I would have gone over there! Cool!

Gosh, I love castles. But that is not how I imagined a castle bedroom to look. Seen too many movies I guess. :wah:
We don't have many castles here but there's always the Winchester House. Swear I'm gonna go one day and see if I see any ghosts or get lost inside!

I love the first photo. It looks so approachable... almost cozy. Castles from a distance are usually colder looking.

It's Norman with bits of pre-civil-war extension. The initial central section was built by Robert le Despenser - William the Conqueror's Steward and all-round enforcer - by 1080 and then passed to William's half-brother Robert, Count of Mortain.
