Why is it that the person that seems to practice preventive maintainence on their vehicles by religiously changing the oil, keeping the tires properly inflated, using good fuel, doesn't treat their body as well? Why go to the doctor and get a physical they say, "I feel great". Why change the oil, the car is still running. What's the point? You don't have to feel sick to have a tumor growing inside of you. You can have plugged up arteries and still feel O.K. Often, by the time you do feel sick, it could be to late to treat the problem.

What's the answer? Treat your body as well as you treat your car. Put the right kind of fuel in it and get periodic check ups. You will have many cars over your life time, but only one body.

The problem I've had Lon - is I go to the Doctor knowing my body is changing, knowing theres something wrong - I'm told I'm wrong - I'm given a precription and sent home. I go back and I go back - Doctors have treated me like a annoying little girl - heres another pill...

When all the time I had a large tumor growing - by the time Doctors listened to me I had a football size Tumor removed. To date I've had over 15 surgeries.

Why don't Doctors listen to WOMEN.?

Patsy

P.S. My car runs fine.

Sorry to hear that Patsy. You did your job, but the idiot doc didn't. I have found that in todays medical climate (doc's with too damn many patients to try and pay the overhead), one has to be assertive with the medical folks. I know it's hard for folks to do, but you just have to be demanding and not take any crap off them. Other than the younger docs, most of them hate the intenet, wherein patients can get loads of good info, as well as bad.

Hope you are doing O.K. BTW---docs don't listen to men either

I agree with you Patsy a lot of doctors are too busy to listen.

Why do a lot of people give their car a name? That's what gets me!

Coming as where? Fancy dress? Would be rather heavy. :wah:

They do though, men seem to be obsessed with their cars.

Why is it the doctor sends your body home with painkillers & tells you it will be fine & the mechanic tells you unless you pay £500 you cant drive the car home

l hear that one..

my gp is lousy...as are the other ones there, l am going to try and change docs..

whenever l go you are not listened to and talked down to like a child..

oh and if you are lucky to get a script, its normally pushed into your hand as you are ushered out the door..

i could go in there with blood streaming from my eyes and get told to stop making a fuss over it..
