A private message. The first time I got one I stared at the pop up box as if it was made of something explosive. Someone was talking to me. ! .

Then more PMs started to show up. The ! turned into a ? then into a .

Then I almost turned them off at one point. I discovered that sometimes people use them to probe for information. That was about the same time I found out that three times out of ten the private message was immediately forwarded to at least four other people. "Private messages" became just "messages". I'm back to liking my PM box. I've developed a relationship with it. I set some rules of response. I think people picked up on it because I stopped getting the . feeling and get the ! sometimes again.

As someone who has seen the PM games and survived them let me assure you, the drama of being in the soap opera that scrubs the dirty floors around here is not worth losing the !

yep. That would be one of the ones that gets forwarded around to at least four people. All of them UK residents, who will then hold a grudge against me for a year and send me bangers and mash in the mail.

On a footnote I ruined FG and half the members scattered because I took a stand on private messages. My concience conscience conshunz is clear.

I like PMs, I always get happy when I have one. The level of excitement is determined by who they are from though. I like it when certain people send me one and tell me a little snippet about something I wrote. I like it when they request things that they wouldn't "outloud". I like it when, after I think I was being too much of a loudmouth, or worried someone would take things the wrong way, and after an apology or explanation they let me know to the contrary. there.

I forgot, I also like being cryptic in PMs, and love to torment with tiny bits of information.

I've got two days, well one and a half left of quiet time before I start back on the 9-5 (I wish it were 9-5). Then I'll slow down some. The place drains my senses sometimes. I need a patron. I will write stories for cigarettes, cafeine, and sammiches. I have two stories still left, one from a request, one sepia toned that I will have to think about, and then I also have to revise the one I just finished, make it flow better. All you have to do is go over and make a request. Post a lyric, a picture, a quote, or cuss at me, and I'll write one. You can even PM me, that makes it on topic, see what I did.

You most certainly did not ruin it, i applaud you now as i did then for outing them. It was long overdue.

Whenever I get a PM I'm always worried someone is telling me to shut the **** up. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it's coming. :-3

I've only gotten a handful of PM's since starting my FG career. Most of the time it's lonely and empty. I'd really like a PM buddy. :-4

I feel very confident in venturing to say , that I dont believe that one of my sent PMs has ever been forwarded to anyone else. I dont PM to get information. Anyone Ive ever become friendly with, I eventually exchange e mail adresses with. I will admit to having been a little bit frightened to open a few that have come over the years, from someone I wouldnt expect a message from. I did get one very upsetting one about a year ago. I got so upset that I removed all my information from FG. In hindsight, I was sorry I didnt defend myself. But confrontation has never been very appealing to me, thus my nick name Turtle from my friends in Georgia.

I used to have a hairball that would PM me with suggestive titles like "I fart in your direction" . Kinda miss those now.
