I went to my doctors yesterday to enquire about having Restylane (cosmetic filler) for my frown lines and lines around my mouth area.

He has a private clinic at his practice, so i thought i'd rather go to someone i know and have a little trust in.

I stressed that i did'nt want Botox and the idea of having a harmless procedure appealed to me more.

I came away 90 minutes later with an appointment for next Saturday for Botox to my forehead, Botox to my upper lip and Restylane around my mouth area and a bill for £800!!!

The thing is, now i've calmed down after seeing all the wonderful before and after pics of the effects of botox, i really do not want it!

I feel as though i was really pressured into agreeing to having it done, and i'm embarrassed about calling him and telling him i'd really rather not.

Any idea's how i can go about it?

And more to the point resist his wiley ways with the botox needle.:-3

Abbey, just call them first thing Monday morning and explain that you feel a little worried about having the procedure's done and that you'd like more time to think about it. They will be fine, after all they still want your business. If you have already paid just ask for the money back (they may try to keep a small deposit, but just state you thought that their was a 'cooling/thinking' period of 48 hrs(this does not include any non-working days such as Sunday).

When it comes to surgical treatments and financial matters never feel embarrassed, what is a little embarrassment compared to losing a lot of money or not fully checking out their testaments.

I have seen the results of botox and must say I have been quite impressed with what I have seen, but the best thing for the skin is drinking lots of water, a very good suncream and yes you guessed it no smoking.

I am sure that you are worrying over nothing, you are a great person inside, which makes you a beauty all round :-4 But a piccy would be cool, you are one of the FG's mysteries, no one knows what you look like :rolleyes: :wah:

Just call and say you've changed your mind and cancel the appointment.

These treatments need to be re-done quite frequently, don't they? Every 6 months?

Just call and tell him you have had time to think about it, and you changed your mind about the botox. I really don't think he will mind. You usually talk to the receptionist anyway, she will change the appointment and he probably will not even remember talking to you about it.

Abbey, just ring him tomorrow, and say you changed your mind. You don't have to say anything more for an explanation.

I cowardly cancelled the appointment with my Dr by e-mail.

Made a couple with 2 other places and went last night for the treatment and i never knew such pain existed!

It was ruddy horrendous, i decided not to go for the anasthetic (cant stand needles in my mouth)

and omg i thought i was going to pass out from the pain, i had 3 hours sleep last night my face hurts so much. :-1

Not cowardly, Abbey. Whatever way you needed to cancel was fine.

So I'm confused. Did you have Botox or Restylane? How long did the procedure take? Are you doing it again?! I hate to see you go through all that pain.

I Just had the restylane, although the Botox would have been quicker and less painful and cheaper! it took about 45 minutes, i have to go back in 2 week to finish, it hurt too much last night (cry baby :-1 )

I'll see how i feel in a month when i see the full effects wether or not it's worth it.

Oh my goodness, what a lot to go through, pain and rediculous amount of money a couple of times a year. Just have a fringe.
