Ive just been made aware this is what theyre teaching our children in grade school. Are you believing this ? The weasel may pop here and pop there pop everywhere but I see no reason to make the little kids sing about it. Id like to know who the monkey chasing the weasel is. Whats that supposed to mean anyway ? Women use hygienic products for their petunias are they going to start singing about that too ?

I'll grant you that the most reasonable interpretation on that page is the one you gave, spot. Popping=pawning Weasel=double debased cockney slang for suit. But they say there is still any evidence lacking that ties in the date of the song... or something like that.
