Oh I did a stupid thing and got rejected. So lately I've been having lots of work done on my car since I have some cash flow; struts, and other stuff. I called my mechanic 2 days ago and talked about getting more stuff done like axels and then I said "so when are you gonna ask me out?" And he said "oh, ha" and then he said "you don't want to know what's been going on with me Christine". I asked "what?" and He said "oh I have a lot of problems right now that you don't want to know about". I inquired again "well what" and he said he can't disclose because there were people around him. And I was like "what?"and he said "it's personal" So I said okay and he said he had to get off the phone because "there's a guy here trying to get money out of me", then he said "I'll call you later or you call me".

I think he is trying to turn me down nicely. So I went back inside my office and told the 2 girls I work with what I did and what he said and one of them said "okay he's gay".

if he was gay he would have just said he was gay, if he says he has a lot of stuff going on right now that you don't want to know about; it probably means he just got done with a relationship and he don't feel like messing with another right now, casual date or not.

Oh that sounds right. And he told me the day before mother's day that he was having "family problems".

I think you might should not have pushed him to tell you what his problems were. After two attempts, he was kind of in a hard place with that. How much have you put into your car over this mechanic?? :-3

Oh believe me, it needs it. It broke down a couple months ago too. I just want to get it running right. And he is a very honest mechanic.

Well, I won't ask him again, that's for sure.

You can ask him again, just wait til you go in and not on the phone. He might say no, but just because he was in a frazzle and didn't have time for a proper conversation don't give up. he'll let you know if he ain't got it in him right now, and if he does just accept it. Men for the most part so what is on their minds, and when they say something it usually isn't to try and get a woman to ask more questions. If that were the case he would say so.

Well, we were supposed to go out 3 years ago. But there was someone else still hanging around him. And she happened to hear about me and began popping up when I was there. So I stayed away for about a year.

He told me about 2 years ago that she is an "on-again-off-again" thing for the last 5 years. She .....well, I'd better not write anything offensive. But she speaks another language, other than English. I will just say that. So I haven't seen her there for a while now. And I have moved out of that area. So I guess they split again. She was the extreme jealous type and would give him the stink eye when I was there. Then 2 summers ago, she worked in his shop for a month. That is when I started going elsewhere for my oil chages. But now she is not around. And I have not noticed her calling him either. I also heard that they were supposed to get married like 7 or 8 years ago, but twice it "fell through".

If she is on again off again, and he is interested enough to "almost" get married twice; then that is probably what he was referring to. I of course could be totally wrong.

Your axles are probably ok. Im not sure about the rest though.

I think he might have just gotten out of bad relationship and does not want to be bothered just yet. If he was gay, he would tell you. I have alot of friends that are gay and they are very proud people and will tell women they are gay. Just keep smiling every time you see him, and don't ask him out again, let him ask you.

Okay at the risk of being called "racist", here in southern Calif. there are a lot of Mexican illegal aliens. And he has a few of them working for him. She is one of them. And I think that is the reason it is "on-again-off-again". Maybe she goes back to Mexico "on-again-off-again" and his shop is where she "works". And he is possbly attracted to those types.

As for your car, change your garage there are plenty of honest mechanics about.Well I got used to being able to call him whenever I have a car problem. And we have gotten to know each other over the years. And usually he can tell me what is wrong with my car over the phone, just by me telling him what went wrong with it. I like that. And he gives me discounts, like not charging me for labor. And believe it or not, I met his lawyer when I went there in February and got to talk with him while I was waiting for me car. And sometimes he and I laugh and talk about things. Like ebay and whatever else we've been doing lately. As far as that other girl, and what his lawyer told me also,..."she isn' t around any more."

Yah, I don't feel like he is trying to blow me off, or he would have by now. And I'll just keep smiling when I see him. And he likes my business. But still, I was crushed. So, I can concentrate on someone who I know is interested.
