It depends on what you want to do with it, Red, and whether you want to prolong its active life and whether room temperature is much over 70F/20C degrees.. If I buy a camembert or roquefort or dolcelata or stilton or brie to serve on a particular day I might refrigerate or I might not, they'll not survive 90F/30C for hours or days on end. They'll not be so much fun to eat if they're not properly ripe either. In general I'd be surprised if I refrigerated either. A block of cheddar's a different matter, that should have been sold to me in its final eating state to begin with.

Speaking of cheese.

I have become addicted to this cheese called Black Peppercorn, it is from the isle of Man. I put it on my pizzas, sandwiches, pasta. Amazing stuff, you have to try it.

This thread has made me hungry. Cheese and I are good friends. I love cheese. I buy this Irish cheese at the deli, I think it's just called Dubliner...very tasty. So is Havarti. But plain old provolone remains my favorite.

I keep mine right between the butter and the eggs.

Cheese gets too soft unless it is kept refridgerated...

My gramma used to get shirts out of the wash wrap them in plastic and put them in the fridge before she ironed them...

I always keep it in the refrigerator. It lasts longer and doesn't go all soft.
