I'm a weirdo.

One of my fears is ugly plants. Ones that look like they're going to "get" me.

My friend thinks it's a riot because if we happen to pass one of these gross plants, she has to rub my back to get the heebie-jeebie feeling to go away. It makes me shiver. It's like I can feel the plant crawling right up my back toward my neck and even now I'm getting the heebies just thinking about it.

So plants that scare me are:

Cockscomb celosia (looks like a brain on a stem)

Avellana Contorta (Twisted Hazelnut) AKA "Harry Lauder's Walking Stick"- it's a tree with gnarly twisted branches.

Various forms of cactus: Brain cactus, Monstrosa Cristata (Crested Monster) and "Boxing Glove Cactus."

I'm not big on Joshua Trees either.

There are plants that give me the creeps also. I loathe anything furry. Like, Lambs ears. And places I work have it growing everywhere. I also hate the indoor house plants that seem to grow right in front of your eyes. Like wandering jew.

no I wouldn't be putting one of those in my garden either.

Yes, I sometimes feel that way about some of the fuzzy plants too. And don't even get me started on vine tendrils and the insides of spaghetti squash and pumpkins!! EWW!
