Last night we were all discussing how we were proposed to. I seriosly think the men in my husband's family were born without a romance bone in them.

My father n law cruised churches like they were car lots, when he found one he liked, he stopped and told my soon to be mother n law that was where they were getting married.

My husband proposed to me during wheat harvest, on the combine. :wah:

And my nephew, who I think is lucky to be alive, proposed with this little line: "I can't ever remember how to spell your last name, so how bout we change it to mine" Good thing he had a ring, or I think she would of slapped him. :wah:

So how were you proposed to, was it a in the moment deal, or was there all the romance?

The first time i was proposed to was when i was 17 years old. A neighbour with 5 kids and about 30 years old became obsessed with me. Needless to say the marriage didn't happen and i finally escaped her clutches. It was quite scary just how obsessed she became. Talk about fatal attraction.

I'm not sure it counts as a proposal actually, but I had said I wouldn't sleep with him until we were married (I was really idealistic back then) and he said "well we might have to move that wedding date up sooner then."

He never really asked me, it was more just assumed by the both of us that we were meant for each other. He wrote my mom and dad a letter telling them his intentions of marrying me and he told his parents and his best friend that "Terri's the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with." So that was that.

I know it doesn't sound very romantic but it was to me. :)
