When in California I live in a 3,100 individual home "Active Adult Age Restricted Retirement Community" with a 27 hole golf course, tennis courts, two large pools, volleyball courts, fitness center, bar & restaurant and a plethora of other amenities. Before ever buying a home here--------I read the HOA and CC&R's (Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions) of which there are many. It doesn't bother me that I must paint my house with certain approved colors and that all front exterior landscaping must be approved, or that dish antenna must not be visible form the street, or that I can't have a neon sign on the roof proclaiming "Jesus Saves". It's a neat clean and pristine community and will stay that way thanks to the CC&R's. Oh yes, some have complained after buying and moving in, even though there was full disclosure before they bought. Caveat Emptor!!! Jerry Springer folks are bad enough on TV, I sure as hell don't want em for neighbors.
