OMG this is phecking unbelievable, my boss and I went to our regular lunch hang out, I am not shy it's Boston Pizza. We sat down, waited a few minutes to have our table washed and this little sawed of pr*** came up to us washed the table and slapped our menu's down and said "do you girls have a problem with the service here, if it's so bad why do you keep coming back, you barely tip enough for me to pay my kitchen staff i pay my kitchen staff out of my pocket" I was stunned, I thought my purchasing food and beer from them at least 3 times a week was a good thing. My boss said "ok we will solve that problem right now we will leave" and we did just that.

I was vibrating in shock, never have I been so insulted in my life. EVER! We will ever go back. We have supported that place for 2 years now. OMG!!

Give them a couple of weeks and they wil be closed. I wonder what brought that on?

thanks guys we were shocked as heck. No idea how that transpired and believe me, my boss and I are the easiest customers around, we never ever complained. We had another server who always was happy to serve us knew what we drank, barely had to ask and she was awesome. This dude over the past month has been awful even when it has not been busy he would be a crappy server. I dunno what his issues were but believe me it was shocking, we won't go back, which is a bit sad cause we liked the place, I always thought if you returned time and time again it was a good thing, guess it boils down to tipping pity I am not made of gold and can't tip like a millionare.

I wouldn't go back either.

Well my boss phoned customer service she was appauled, the GM is due to call my boss back. With luck we will get a few free lunchs from the joint. Who knows I will keep you posted, according to one of my friends, I should return there with a handful of my biker buddies ahahaha or not.

Good thing is we did not get the chance to order food, he dropped the menus on our table said his piece and we walked out, I spose we should have ordered huge meals left them and did a dine and dash, but that would have taken us down to his level. Not our style.

Well - I'm big for writing letters, write a letter to the owner on why you and your company will not return - explain how often everyone visited this establishment and what transpired - at the very least the server should be dismissed from their job for the rude behavior.

But then again they may just send you a coupon...:-2

I would have stayed and ran his a$$ off. I'd have ordered one drink at a time, asked for parmesan cheese, made a mess, and not left so much as a penny for a tip.

Awww Minksy, that is horrible...my question is...how stupid was he to think that would've encouraged you to tip better?? Sounds like to me, since he told you that he thought you were gonna tip him more...I don't know what I would've done, because when things like that happen to me, I'm so shocked that I don't react well, of course 10 minutes later...I have the best come-back ever!!:-5 :-5

Boston Pizza is a huge chain . We have one in our town, located in the middle of an enormous shopping mall parking lot, surrounded by big box stores. (That, and the sports channel cranked to 11 on the big screen TVs are the reasons I don't go there.)

The few times I have been there, the service was polite and efficient. Our local manager is very community oriented, and sponsors a lot of community events.

Your experience was inexcusable. I'd give the head office a piece of my mind :

Dont go back there to eat, for any reason. If he behaved that way at the table, there is no telling what he might do to your food. Believe me, I have seen it.

Patsy here is the kicker, I have no idea what caused this, I am dying for an explanation. My boss and I frequent this place at least 3 times a week, we usually will buy lunch each, and 2 beers. Other times it's after work for about 3-4 beers each and a plate of nachos. Normally we have this awesome lady serve us she is soo good she barely stops at the table as she knows what kind of beer we gals drink and she is always cheerful and kind.

This dude has served us before and we often we have watched him pass us go to the kitchen or behind the bar and wander about before we even get a menu and our first drink order put in.

We 2 gals are very unassuming, we have our meal, we have never complained about our meals, I know we have muttered to each other about the fact that buddy is a slow server with no personality but that was between us 2.

I think my dear a letter is a grand idea as well.

Believe me this was completely shocking.

One of the guys here thinks the waiter may have us confused with some other patrons. I can't imagine him being that stupid. But then again who knows.

But yes a letter is good.

precisely... and get this RB this guy is merely a waiter he pays nobody. As well I told my daughter this story, she is a line cook at Montana's you got them out there? Well her boss advised them all when they opened up the new place that they were not to depend on tips, tips generally raise your wage on average about $1.00 a day. I know my "tips" do not pay kitchen staff.

Weeder you can bet we are NOT eating there again, not while he is employed. We already discussed the fact he could taint our food.

Peg we thought of ordering and being jerks, but that would have lowered us to his level. Nope I think we will have a more professional approach to this.

We are just glad we were not there with clients.

I once went to a Pizza Hut here. It was a buffet, I got one of the last slices of pizza off the buffet line. The waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink, I tell her iced tea the other three with me asked for the same. I then asked when more pizza would be on the buffet line, she asked whay was wrong with the slice I had, I said well first off it was the next to last slice and the others with me were planning on eating also, besides I said this slice must have been there awhile because it is a bit dried out. She walked away to the kitchen area came back and asked "Is your pzza still dry" I say yes it is. She then pulls a glass of water from behind her back and pours it onto the slice of pizza it goes all over the table into my lap. I stand up and say WTF is your problem, She says I thought I would help you with your dry pizza. We all get up to leave and she tells me that we must pay for our iced tea. i told her to call the cops I wasn't paying for sh*t. We left. Her problem was she didn't realize that I knew the regional director for Pizza Hut. Not one single person that was on duty at the time had a job the next day.

Maybe so, but even if the guy was unloading on a stingy tipper, it's still more than enough reason to fire him.

I know that BP wouldn't tolerate such behaviour. As I said in a previous post, our BP goes out of their way to do things in the community, and even though I don't like the sports bar atmosphere and their location in the middle of a busy parking lot, I acknowledge their good works.

Some news, I sent an email off to BP's customer service people, and a very nice gentleman phoned me and told me they were looking into our situation, and assured me something would be done. He was sorry and appauled by what happened, and said perhaps **** needed more training or maybe wasn't suited for the job. He said I assure you all BP staff is made aware that tipping is not mandatory, and said our tips should never be reflective of what service we get. I told him we have a regular waitress there and she treats us very well, and we always thought she was happy with our tips. Gosh we tip from 10 -14% generally.

This guy told me the GM of the BPs we were at will give me a call soon.

I think I would only go back to that location if I knew that waiter was not working there again, I can't imagine what his revenge would be towards us if he was still there.

For sure. Reminds me of that tv show "Caught on Tape" where they spit (or far worse) in peoples' food and stuff. Urinate in the coffee, etc etc.

Maybe they'll can the guy and give you some freebies. We can hope.

I doubt the prob is with your tippage. It sounds like that jerk was having a bad life and unloaded on you guys. No excuse though.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in Minks...Some people are just asses. I can relate! There's a server at my local drinking hole that acts like everything's an inconvenience. She's miserable and complains about tips to her coworkers. Although, when she serves men she's happy as pie. Everyone else is pleasant to me when Im in there. I want to ask her if she hates life or something..
