Why not combine Golf Courses & Cemeteries? The advantages are numerous. It would increase needed golf course revenue, provide additional member benefits, please enviromentalists and be esthetically pleasing to the eye.

You could have all flat makers and charge for the space based on location. Tee Markers for example would be prime, whereas off the fairway space, less so. You could replace the sand in the bunkers with cremated remains. Most courses close for one day a week for golf course maintainence and that would be the day set aside for burials. Soft organ music wafting across the course from speakers, to soothe the jangled nerves of the golfers. Ah yes, I can see it now. No more hit the ball and drag Harry, just leave him there. Age restricted, Active Adult Retirement Communities like where I live would be ideally suited for such a concept given the average age of the residents. Unfortunatley it will never come to pass because it's too practical an idea.

Brilliant!! I know a couple of golfers that would probably volunteer to be part of a bunker, just to spend more time on the course. :wah:

Before European Union regulations got in the way, interment of domestic staff and impecunious relatives at England's Stately Homes often took place in the vegetable garden. Forced asparagus and marrows of enormous dimensions are sadly a thing of the past these days. The golf course is a perfect alternative, I do hope something comes of it.

Just put her headstone on the fairway - she's always been a bit of a hazard, difficult to avoid and hard to get round, she might as well carry on with the job.
