Do you have a word or a phrase that just makes your skin crawl when you hear it?

Mine is "whatever." When someone says "whatever" to me, it feels like one big F-U. I will sometimes say it myself if I'm exasperated enough but otherwise it actually hurts my feelings when someone says this to me. It's like "p.iss off, you're not worth bothering with discussing it." :(

"Me bad," it earns an automatic lunch detention in my classroom, for bad grammar, and not taking responsibility for their actions.

ok this is probably a weird one but it annoys me when someone answers a question starting with the words "of course" because it sounds like you could automatically add dumba$$ to the end if it. :o

the last time it happened I had emailed a small, regional magazine that didn't have any subscription info on their website to ask if I they did out of state subscriptions and they emailed back "of course we do"

well duh, excuse me! I dunno, it just sounds rude to me.

When people say shut up in response to something someone else said or did. It makes absolutely no sense! Example:

Person 1: I just got a really cool pair of shoes on sale at the mall.

Person 2: SHUT UP!! I was just there & didn't see the sale!

Does this make sense to anyone??

Also, I can't stand when people tell their kids to shut up. That is soooo rude!! I also don't like when people use the word crap for everything. It sounds nasty! :lips:

Wazzzzup!!!!!

There's a curious construction employed by some people which contracts a perfectly reasonable expression. The full version is "you don't think (or do) that and neither do I". The short form appears to be "Me either". I find it inexplicable.

I once had a boss who over-killed the use of the word "theoretically". She used it constantly! I used to try to count how many times she said it in a conversation.

It's about a courting couple in a small car and their parking adventures around Bristol. It's slightly suggestive in parts.

Here, to satisfy your rampant curiosity, is the chorus:Thee's Got'n Where Thee Cassn't Back'n, Hassn't

Thee's got'n in a fine ol mess somehow

Thee's never oughta stuck it in there dissn't

Now what 'bis gonna do about it now?

Thee's cop a packet if thee cassn't shift'n

Cos a copper always turns up from somewhere, Oh ar,

thee's bin in gott'n where the cassn't back'n, hassn't,

Now 'ow bis gonna get it out of there. It amazes me that people can sing it and not get arrested.

I have a customer who adds the words, "true fact" at the end of every sentence. Aren't facts supposed to be true anyway?

It makes me crazy when I say something and hubby says, "Really?". I usually reply, "No, I made it all up."
