Didn't they make a movie with Ricki Lake in it in the 80's?
"Hairspray" was one of John Waters' tame films, though still entertaining.
I'd like to see somebody try a remake of "Pink Flamingos", subtitled as "An Exercise In Poor Taste".
It sure is ! Shockingly offensive, yet brilliant, and perversely funny.

John Waters has a brief cameo in the beginning of this version of HAIRSPRAY .... he's the "flasher" on the street exposing himself to women ! (no kidding)
This is a SWEET & JOYFUL movie, one with rats and racial discrimination and boozy-smoking pregnant women, and , a flasher ....

Hi Pepper, haven't met you...good to see you in the garden.
You're from LA and the play has John Travolta. Thought he was in the NY version. Am I wrong?

Hey Kathy,
I know you addressed this to Pepper, but I'm nosey and the movie that has John Travolta is staged in Baltimore, MD.
