Worth the Wait

A gentle word formed with love

reaches from the page

And caresses me with tenderness

subduing all my rage.

A whisper in the dark of night

That alleviates my fears

Of spending life in solitude

The rest of all my years.

I looked for you so desperately

Sure you could be found

I cried for you so many nights

But no one heard the sound

And when I had gave up the search

trying to become content

The gentle word that is your soul

Was to me, from heaven, sent.
