Take time out if you must but please do not deprive your friends here of your company because of a run in with one person.
We all have the occasional spats but usually they mean nothing once the new day dawns. You would be truly missed were you to go.

Neffers, I think I know what post you mean. You have to consider the source.
Helefra, what difference would a new username make? It won't make some other people be less of a jerk toward you.
In spite of my own increasing unpopularity here , I still have those true blue people who consider me a friend and want me to stay. You guys have them too. If we leave because of the chaff, then we lose and our friends lose too.
I'm not going anywhere and I hope you won't either. The nastiness will blow over as it always does.

Aw Neffy and Helefra, if you leave, whomever is getting under your skin has won.
I sincerely hope you just take breaks and remember your friends here will miss you.
There is always somebody around to pizz off somebody in forums, please don't be "run off"
If you like FG it's worth staying and enjoying. I would bet you have more people liking you than you do disliking you.
Please know your friends outweigh your enemies.
Sincerely from the heart Minks

I sure hope neither of you leave. It seems to me that some people in this world, whether in RL or on the net, get pleasure from antagonizing others and causing harm. I've always suspectd it's because deep down, they're miserable, and like the saying goes - misery loves company. Please don't let the ramblings of the few keep you away from the many.

Well, of course, you're the exception to the rule
Then again, in your antagonizing, you don't intend to cause harm.
As an aside, after further reading, I'd also like to add that sometimes, things come across differently than they're meant. Feelings get hurt sometimes, when it's not the intention. I hope both you will keep in mind how many dear friends you have here.

Everyone leaves FG at one time or another. The secret is to not get offended by other peoples opinions. Geez - I have my own which REALLY differ from a lot people here. This is what I like about FG. Close your PM down...don't talk to people who offend you. Come back with a new attitude.

I'm one of those who swept out of FG on a wave of indignation and a goodbye thread. And now? Well, I read here daily, occasionally post, and always play in the arcade. Do I feel a bit daft for not totally sticking with my original decision? Yes, I do, a bit

But, at the time, that's "where I was."
I think that if only we can accept that changing our minds, our moods and the way that we are, is just being human, it'll make getting on together much easier. Some people will want to write good bye threads, others will just delete themselves, some will stay around and say nothing etc. etc. And everyone will react in their own ways to what's going on, none of which is necessarily right or wrong.
Since I've been posting on forums, I realise how quickly I can change from liking someone, to loathing them, to liking them again...and, as you say, Jimbo, since it's all about how we interpret the written word it's bound to be changeable.
And now I've forgotten the point I was going to make :-5 (that's what happens with age) so I'll just submit my pointless post

I'm another member who left for several months & then returned. You cant do right for doing wrong in these circumstances. If you post a goodbye thread your thought childish or a drama queen, if you dont people say - the least she could have done was post a goodbye thread not just disappear, cant win
Anyway hopefully Neffy & Helefra just need a break & will come back to us refreshed, if not best of luck to both you girls, it was nice knowing you :-4

Okay, this is the history of it.
http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~bjackson/attica.htm
Then in the movie Dog Day Afternoon, the crowd chanted it in support of the the men robbing the bank. In some areas (maybe just mine) it has kind of became a chant for people who want something or disagree with something but really have no idea what they actually want or disagree with.
In other words, I really have seen no problems, but just to go along with the sentiments I say Attica Attica Attica. Kinda supports both sides without offending either because I have no pony in this race but I want to protest for something. Make any sense at all?:)

buttercup;669079 wrote: Whats attica?
Hi Buttercup. Attica Prison in New York. They rioted in 1971 over poor living conditions.
From Wiki:
The Attica Prison riots were general prison uprisings that began at the Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, New York, United States, on September 9, 1971. In the end, at least thirty-nine people were dead.
The prisoners had demanded better living conditions, showers, education, and vocational training, as well as less censorship of their mail and visitors. At the time, inmates were given one bucket of water a week as a "shower" and one roll of toilet paper a month.
The original request was sent in a letter before any physical action. Then, responding to rumors of the impending torture of another prisoner, the prisoners revolted, taking prison guards as hostages.
It also says that the prison settled with the families of the dead inmates 27 YEARS LATER!!
A settlement of 12 million dollars went to the families of the dead prison employees in 2004.
To explain the "Attica! Attica!" call:
In the 1975 film Dog Day Afternoon, Al Pacino's character, Sonny, who is holding eight bank employees hostage, starts a chant of "Attica! Attica!" at the massed police outside, invoking the excessive police force used in response to the Attica riots. Many more pop culture references stem from this scene than from the riots themselves. For example, in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever Tony Manero, played by John Travolta, repeats Pacino's "Attica! Attica!" line. See Dog Day Afternoon in popular culture for many more examples.
There's more at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attica_Prison_riots but I just put down the highlights.

Yes, I sure did YZGI. Why?
Isn't it funny sometimes how something like that gets imprinted in pop culture and we just automatically know what it means?
And I've seen Dog Day Afternoon about five times I think.
